The Newest SEO Strategies

Search engine optimization is nothing new. When we talk about SEO we mean targeting specific keywords that satisfy basic criteria about competition and search volume. Ever since first web search engines emerged in 1990s webmasters tried to find a way to display their websites on top positions in search results. In the beginning this was pretty easy since word frequency was one of the main criteria used for ranking. All you had to do was to stuff pages with target keywords. Since those days search engines evolved significantly. Currently there is Google which provides highly relevant search results and therefore has significant market share, Yahoo and Bing are also popular but have only small market share and then there is Baidu who is primarily oriented toward Chinese market. But basic SEO approaches are valid for all search engines.

The most important SEO strategy is to use original quality content. You should avoid using any text already present on other pages. This means that you should write your own text regardless of the target keyword. For some this may seem complicated but the fact is that it is pretty simple to write about anything. You start by studying existing information (web, books or any other source). After this analysis it will be pretty easy to write about any topics. All you have to do is to strictly avoid directly using existing content on other pages. Original content will not only prevent low ranking because of duplicate content, it will also offer some added value to normal visitors. And this is exactly what Google and other search engines like: original, fresh, quality content interesting to web users.

Another important SEO strategy is promotion of the website. The goal is not just to promote the website in order to get some visitors–the ultimate goal should be to place backlinks at relevant pages. Relevant page is any page with related content. The best links are those on high authority pages. Of course, it is not easy to get such links but this is the basic principle. However, the best links are those that other web users create without your intervention. This is called natural linking. The easiest way to get natural links is to publish interesting content that will attract other users. Now we are again at the most important SEO strategy: original quality content.

Many SEO experts will try to teach you how to optimize pages or how to get a lot of “dofollow” backlinks. The problem is that if you don not have good content you can not count on high ranking. All SEO strategies should start with keyword research and quality content, only then you can apply classical SEO tricks to emphasize relevant keywords.

To be on the top you need to know the latest SEO tricks []. With good content and few SEO tools [] you will be able to reach top positions in search results.

Doing SEO is nothing more that creating interesting pages. Of course, you need to apply some small modifications in order to properly emphasize important keywords but everything start with quality content.

And these are the directories that I will be sharing with you, along with their pagerank. And don’t forget, the higher the pagerank of the directory, the better boost your website gets.

While writing articles, remember that your main goal is to boost keyword authority of your website rather than drawing visitors to your site. Therefore, you are not going to advertise or try to sell anything in these articles. The articles can be 400 words long only.

You should always focus on optimizing these articles to become relevant to your website content and it is highly recommended to mention your keywords explicitly more than once in your articles. In addition to that, do not forget using a relevant anchor text linking to your website in each article. Always include your anchor link in the author’s signature.

Using Link Wheels

Building a link wheel is one of the most effective ways to draw tons of traffic to your website. The process starts by creating at least 6 articles/blogs/microblogs on a particular topic, and posting them on article directories or web 2.0 sites. Each time you post an article, you have to create a link back to your main page, and a link to your other article/blog. The trick here is two things:

– First, it is to link all your articles to each other. Eventually, you will be creating a circle of these links (called a link wheel)

– And all these articles should point back to your main website

Do link wheels always bring good results? The question is a bit like asking “Do dogs bite” The answer is some will, and some will not. If done properly, link wheels can have a highly significant effect on SEO rankings for a specific keyword, bring tons of new traffic to your website.

To understand link wheels, think about it this way: when you post your articles on sites with a PageRank of 5, 6 and 7 like,,, etc… you will be passing value from one blog to another and your main website gets basically the sum of the value passed.

How to Achieve Excellent Free Back Links and Traffic

Much can be done on the site itself by a webmaster in order to get highly ranked. But, the search engines want to see other sites linking in, too. In other words, an obvious vote of confidence. Here are a few ways to help achieve getting some good backlinks.

Commenting on blogs is a tried and trusted method of creating a link to another site. The problem is that it has got to the stage where spammers have almost taken over. A lot of blog owners have made their sites ‘Nofollow’ so there’s no value as far as link juice is concerned. Of course that doesn’t stop other readers from clicking the link to visit your site.

The key is to look for blogs which are connected by topic to your own site/blog, and make comments which add value to the discussion. Comments like ‘Nice post’ or ‘I agree’ are likely to get your comment removed (along with your link of course).

Writing articles can be one of the very best ways to get you as an author noticed, and any links you have in your author bio, or resource box, will carry some weight with Google – that is unless you are using an article publishing site which makes links ‘Nofollow.’ Personally I don’t see any need to use article sites unless at least some of the links are ‘Dofollow.’ Once your article gets published you could have a lot of readers who click the link to your site, so it can often be an additional source of quality traffic.

If you’ve heard of Squidoo, WordPress, Hubpages, to name a few, then you might know the value of writing articles for social media and Web 2.0 pages. Google seems to rate such platforms very highly, so this is a trick not to miss.

It is really easy to set up, say, a Squidoo account, build lenses, and create links to your site(s). The key is to look for something if possible that no one, or few others, have already done. And of course, as always, content is king, so make sure your lenses are of good quality.

Press releases can also work well. If you run a business for example, let the world know via a press release. There are lots of press release services around, though some are of much better quality than others. There are some rules to follow when using a press release company, but once you have mastered it you could find your site gets a lot more positive attention from the search engines, and users.

What it is and Where to Get DoFollow Backlinks

Do you want more backlinks to your web site in order to increase your web site ranking? You may choose to leave relevant comments on DoFollow weblogs. Read this article about DoFollow and NoFollow link building.

So what is DoFollow? This is a popular term that applies to web sites or blogs that are not using the NoFollow hyperlink attribute in their outbound links. What this piece of code does is to command the search engines not to take a hyperlink with this attribute seriously. This keeps spammers from leaving tons of useless comments on your blog in order to gain a lot of backlinks. Simply put, the search engines do not follow these links away from your site. Unfortunately, this also has a negative impact upon legitimate comments left by other internet users.

Therefore sites that use NoFollow in their outbound links are gems for link building. However, it is rather difficult to find DoFollow sites and blogs these days. You may still find them if you do some research into these kinds of web sites.

Where can you find a DoFollow blog service? Well, let us look at WordPress. You can create a new account and blog with this site for free. Simply upload tons of articles with your embedded keywords and post them on your new blog. Be sure to include a backlink to your own web site in each post. This will help you with building DoFollow links to your own site.

Another option you may use is Blogger. You can create a free blog there and then share your thoughts and information with others. It is quite easy to post new articles there. You can also personalize your blog with themes and gadgets. Remember to include a backlink to the web site you are building links for in each post you make.

Next you may decide to social bookmark your site at Digg. You submit your site or blog as well as a brief description. Other users may then rank your site as they wish. This also gives you a backlink. You may also consider Propeller.

Another way to get DoFollow backlinks is to submit your own articles to an article submission site such as EzineArticles. Remember to put your backlink in your author resource box and not in the article body. They have changed the links in the article body to be NoFollow instead of DoFollow. You can get a free account with an article submission limit of 10 articles. After that your account must be reviewed and updated. You may also have a look at ArticleDashboard.

Squidoo is another great opportunity. You can sign up for a free account and create your own page quickly. You just share your information on this page and include one or two backlinks to your own site.

If you are using the Firefox web browser, you can download and install a plugin that will highlight the NoFollow and DoFollow hyperlinks on any given web page. This will help you to find sites that allow DoFollow backlinks. Just visit the Firefox web site and search for a DoFollow plugin. Download, install and activate it under the tools menu. It lights up the different types of links in different colors.

This concludes this article about DoFollow backlinks to your web site for better link building.

Dofollow and Nofollow in Link Building

Dofollow refers to links that do not have nofollow attribute. It is recognized as a vote and the link will be crawled by the search engine spiders. If the link is dofollow, the page rank of the webpage can be transferred into your site. Links with nofollow links are less likely to be crawled. No follow simply means that the webmaster does not want to have anything to do with the link.

The dofollow and nofollow attributes are originally created by Google to reduce the amount of spam in the blogging community. Before it was implemented, many people like to leave their links in the comment body while commenting on the blog posts. The amount of spam is so overwhelming that it cause problems for the blog moderator. Google created the dofollow/nofollow terms so that the moderators don’t have to worry about the link juice of their page flowing out to unrelated websites.

Since the implementation of nofollow, the amount of spam comment has greatly reduced. To determine if a site is dofollow, you simply right click on the link. When the right click menu pop up, you should select Properties. If the Properties dialog box state new_window, open in new window or dofollow, it indicates that it is a dofollow site. If it states nofollow or external nofollow, it means that it is nofollow. Another more accurate method is to install the Mozilla Firefox NoDoFollow addon. The Mozilla Firefox NoDofollow add on will highlight the dofollow and nofollow link in separate color.

To reap the maximum benefit, make sure you submit to a dofollow site. If you submit to a nofollow site, your backlink will never be indexed. If the backlink is not indexed, it will not be counted as a vote for your site. Therefore, it is important that your link is dofollow so that it does get indexed by the search engines.

Best DoFollow Sites for Building Backlinks in 2016

What is a DoFollow link?

For many businesses, having a strong online presence is a necessity in today’s market. Likewise, if you have anything to market, it is important that you use all the tools available to you to give the website as much exposure as possible.

If you’ve started your own blog or have a presence on social media and you want to increase your SEO (Search Engine Optimization) ranking, you’ve probably done some research on link building and have run into the terms “DoFollow” and “NoFollow”. Both terms refer to a form of backlinks, which are external links from other websites which point back to your website. Backlinks are important as they are one of the factors which Google and inferior search engines use in considering the ranking of your website. That’s right, DoFollow and NoFollow have an affect on your site’s PageRank. The quickest way to determine a site has DoFollow links is to look for the little icons, usually at the top or bottom of a page which you can click on to share the website’s content on social media websites such as Twitter, Facebook and Google Plus. DoFollow links can come from sources such as websites, social media platforms, blogs and forums. You can recognize DoFollow links in HTML coding which is encrypted in hyperlinks.

To determine if a site’s links are DoFollow or NoFollow, simply right click on the site and view the source code. Check out the HTML and look for the following code after the link’s website reference.

rel=”dofollow” or rel+”external

Search engines track DoFollow links and their value (also referred to as juice) also gets transferred to the search engine. Okay, so what does that mean? It means that Google bots will follow the link and enter your site. This will help Google in indexing your page and getting credit for the backlink as opposed to the site using “NoFollow” which means that Google bots would not follow the link to your site. In that case, the link may as well not even exist. Verifying whether a link which appears in the search engine results pages, or SERPs is a DoFollow link can easily be done with a couple of clicks. Simply right click on the link you want to check in Mozilla or Chrome and select the “Inspect element” option from the drop-down menu. A window will open at the bottom of your browser with a highlighted link including the complete html code. We will go over one real-world example together so that you fully understand this concept if you havent mastered it already.

Can You Get a DoFollow From Facebook?

For example, if you wanted to find out if Facebook allows DoFollow links, you would perform the following steps:

1.) Visit Facebook.

2.) Right click on a post with a link in it.

3.) Click on “Inspect Element”.

4.) Look for the HTML code containing either “DoFollow” or “NoFollow” right next to the URL being shared.

If you performed this little 4-step experiment, depending on what link you checked, you most likely found out that Facebook does NOT allow DoFollow links. This is a terrible waste of potential as Facebook is a PageRank 9 (PR9) site and could give your site a nice boost with that kind of backlink juice. No worries! If you want a backlink from a PR9 such as Facebook then it is my duty to deliver information to you on how you can achieve this. However, now is not the time for this so I will save it for the next article as we have bigger fish to fry first.

I do promise you that it is possible and I am not just making it up!

What are the Advantages of DoFollow Links?

One of the most obvious advantages of DoFollow links is that they give your site backlink juice. Especially if you bait some good ones. Ultimately, you want a nice mix of all types of PR backlinks (PR0-PR9), but that is a discussion for another day.

Backlinks tend to help attract more visitors to your site, increasing the amount of traffic and the overall PageRank (PR) of your site.

DoFollow links also encourage comments from other bloggers and users seeking backlinks and the more people comment on your blog or website, the better it is for your SEO. DoFollow links can have advantages and disadvantages depending on what your goals are and whether you are the webmaster or just a user of a site that honors DoFollow. Enabling Dofollow links on your site or blog can help you as a webmaster due to the fact that you will attract users that will be leaving comments on it. This also increases SEO and the ranking of a blog in the SERPS (Search Engine Results Pages).

How Do I Stop Spammers?

The main disadvantage to Dofollow enabled websites is that they are an opportunity for spammers to post irrelevant links on your site which will take time to moderate and delete. It can get annoying quick, but there is good news. WordPress blogs come with the Akismet plugin preinstalled now-a-days. Akismet is a plugin that will stop spammers dead in their tracks. Even though it is pre-installed, you will still have to activate it and provide your API for it to work. Fortunately for you, doing so is no big deal and only takes a few minutes.

What Are DoFollow and NoFollow Blogs and Which One to Choose From?

You might have heard about increasing Google page rank with DoFollow Blogs. Before going into how such blogs and websites can help you in increasing your blog or website page rank, lets throw some light on the concept behind DoFollow and NoFollow.

NoFollow is the relationship attribute for hyperlinks in HTML (Hypertext Markup Language). HTML is responsible for rendering web pages in web browsers. These attributes tells search engine bots either to follow/crawl the associated Hyperlink or not.

Consider the following commonly used markup for a hyperlink:

Your Website

Above markup corresponds to a DoFollow link, which means the resulting link will be followed by Search Engine Spiders.

Now, If we put a NoFollow relationship attribute in this markup, the resulting link will not be followed by Search Engine Spiders:

rel=”nofollow”>Your Website

Note: DoFollow is neither a word nor an HTML attribute, it’s just a name given to Blogs or Links, which don’t implement NoFollow attributes.

Some people think, using

with a particular Hyperlink, makes the link followed by Search Engine Bots, but such attributes doesn’t exists in reality. Using such wrong attributes may cause a link to appear as SPAM to Search Engine Bots. If you want to make a link followed/crawled (DoFollow), simply don’t use any type of relationship attribute with it.

Also Inbound or Internal Links are the Hyperlinks present in a particular page of your Blog/Website, which points to other Posts/Pages present within your Blog/Website, whereas Outbound or External Links are the Hyperlinks present in a particular page of your Blog/Website, which points to Posts/Pages of some other Blog/Website.

Now, it is quite understandable that blogs and websites using no relation attributes in their links are DoFollows.

So does a DoFollow Blog increases Google PageRank of your website?

People, especially Webmasters, usually search for DoFollow blogs with high PageRank (PR) to submit comments on articles there. It’s a basic link-building strategy. Also, Webmasters makes their blog DoFollow in order to increase responses and traffic!

If you’re commenting honestly after reading an article, that’s fine, but what if you’re the one whose own blog is DoFollow? It is a firm belief among Bloggers and Webmasters all over the globe, that DoFollow links may PASS the Google Juice of a blog/page (Decrease PageRank).

Bloggers and webmasters have complete control over allowing or restricting Hyperlink(s) to be followed by Search Engine Bots, in there Posts and Pages. But when it comes to comments, it is the back end (template of the blog), which controls the link relationship behavior (which is nofollow by default). But, It can also be modified by means of some advanced editing or plugin usage.

Here are some Pros and Cons of having a DoFollow Blog:

Increased traffic. Hence, increased number of Pageviews and Ad Revenue
Number of RSS Feed Subscriber will increase dramatically, as they always want to follow your Blog Updates and Comment on them.
The blog might get a place in DoFollow Blog Directories and Lists.

Cons/Disadvantages of Having a DoFollow Blog:

Increased number of SPAM comments.
Less honest responses.
The link juice of a particular page will be distributed to outbound or external links (which are present in the comments), hence causing (severe) loss in PR.
Opportunity for selling Text Link Advertisements will be greatly reduced, as the advertiser will be using the Comment Area of your Blog for getting Backlinks for FREE!

Tip: Do not use rel=”nofollow” in your inbound links.

How to know if a blog is DoFollow or NoFollow?

Some people announce in their blog posts about the DoFollow nature of their blog, and sometimes they are even able to invite comments on a totally Useless Article!

In order to determine whether a blog is DoFollow or NoFollow in nature, pick up a name of someone who already commented there, view source of that web page and find that name, now see whether the hyperlink tag contains rel=”nofollow” or not, if not it’s a DoFollow Blog. You can also use Highlight NoFollow links Add-On for Mozilla Firefox to figure out NoFollow links on a blog without even viewing the source.

What should I choose: DoFollow or NoFollow?

A NoFollow Blog is acceptable when you give priority to honest reviews/comments and PR juice first. Those who want more comments as well as traffic (hence increased AdSense and other Ad Network revenue) may use DoFollow blogs on their own risk!

What I prefer: I don’t think a DoFollow blog is going to bring you popularity. You can test yourself: Your most of the Top/Regular Commentator will be permanently GONE as soon as you switch your Blog Comment Area to NOFOLLOW.

So, if you’re in the Blogosphere to make Good Audience/Loyal Visitors, I will highly recommend you to switch to a NOFOLLOW Blog. Hardly, anyone would like to lose his/her PR.
But then it’s completely your own decision!

A Complete List of Dofollow Social Bookmarking Sites

First of all, since I always like paying special attention to beginners, I’d like to explain exactly what dofollow social bookmarking sites are. Social bookmarking sites, in order to prevent spammy submissions, usually add nofollows, which are basically an instruction that the Google bot gets telling it not to pay attention to the link on their site towards yours. Therefore, the link does not enhance your site’s PageRank, which is one of the most, if not the most important factor to get top spots on Google.

Are these links useless then? The answer is no. They are still useful if you want traffic, publicity for your site and reader interest, among other things. However, there are dofollow social bookmarking sites out there. Right now, we’re talking about smaller websites, not the most famous, but submission is useful. It won’t replace a quality SEO and social media marketing strategy, but it can be an interesting part of it.

Here is a very complete list of some dofollow social bookmarking sites which I’ve put together. You might find more spam than usual here, and remember that these sites tend to appear and disappear fast – you might have to really go through the list and re-check it once in a while – but they are still a valid option:

Ebaum’s world
Jim’s Free Links
Planete Blog
So Force
Social Article

So how do we discover nofollow links anyway? Although I’m usually a Google Chrome user, for this I recommend using the Mozilla Firefox browser, because it enables you to install what are called add-ons. If you search for ‘firefox nofollow addon’, you will be able to install a number of programs that mark nofollow links with red highlighting – a very useful trick for any webmaster. Whenever you go into a website which is all marked in red, you’ll know that links placed there are not useful for SEO purposes. On the other hand, if there’s no red highlighting, you’re good to go.

Other good ways to get dofollow links is by submitting work you write to certain PR (or Press Release) sites. While traffic on these isn’t generally huge, the dofollow links are valuable: just the same situation as with the dofollow social bookmarking sites we listed before… These PR sites don’t value quality content as much, so it’s fine to submit less newsworthy or informative items, such as announcements about your business, which – let’s face it – might be a little bit less interesting to a general public
